He emphasized that Beijing University of Chinese Medicine must thoroughly implement the important instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding the development of TCM, firmly uphold the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and nurturing people, innovate in the practice of educating students, and comprehensively strengthen the cultivation of students' virtues and medical skills. The university should focus on people's health, highlight the characteristics of disciplines such as Chinese medicine, Chinese pharmacy, and integrative medicine, promote interdisciplinary development, and accelerate the transformation of achievements in TCM product research and development. The university should also deepen international exchanges and cooperation in TCM, actively promote the construction of international standards related to TCM, accelerate the cultivation of international TCM talent, and better promote the "going global" of TCM.

According to Xinhua News Agency in Changchun, December 9th (Reporter Zhao Dandan), in order to deepen international cooperation on traditional medicine with countries along the "Belt and Road," China will provide specialized training for 1,300 TCM professionals from relevant countries over the next three years. This was announced during the 3rd World Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Conference held in Changchun from December 7th to 9th.
Traditional Chinese medicine is becoming a new area for international cooperation. According to the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China has signed specialized cooperation documents on TCM with more than 40 foreign governments, regional authorities, and international organizations, and has built 30 high-quality TCM centers overseas in "Belt and Road" countries.
Yu Yanhong, Director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stated at the conference that the next step will focus on acupuncture research, herbal medicine research, and evidence-based traditional medicine research, conducting scientific innovation exchanges and transformation cooperation with relevant countries, regions, and international organizations, to enhance the level of scientific research in traditional medicine. The plan is to train 1,300 TCM professionals from relevant countries over the next three years to promote international exchanges and the inheritance of TCM culture.
The theme of this conference was "New Quality Leading Health, Science and Technology Creating the Future Together." Representatives from more than 20 countries and regions exchanged ideas on promoting TCM scientific innovation and improving TCM service capabilities.

To assist in spreading China's excellent TCM techniques and skills and support the internationalization of Chinese TCM vocational education, the "Luban Workshop TCM Cooperation Community" was jointly established in August 2023 by Tianjin Medical University, the UK National Qualifications Framework, and 96 domestic and foreign vocational colleges and international organizations.
To help the systematic "going global" of TCM vocational education, the community's member schools have designed five majors for the overseas educational market and built a comprehensive teaching resources database, which is open for use by partner schools in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Slovenia, and Estonia. In April 2024, the construction of the TCM Luban Workshop teaching resource library will officially begin, with 48 schools as the first batch of founding units. The project will systematically export TCM vocational education to overseas markets in the fields of diagnosis, treatment, medication, and health maintenance.
